Dallas - Amazon revealed on Tuesday that it plans to add over 13,000 jobs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area ahead of the holiday season, Dallas Metro News reported.

The positions will span full-time, part-time, and seasonal roles, with the option for seasonal workers to transition to permanent employment. This hiring surge in Dallas-Fort Worth is part of a broader initiative by Amazon to create more than 28,000 new jobs in Texas and a total of 250,000 new positions across the United States.

The available jobs encompass various tasks, including packing, picking, sorting, and shipping, and are open to candidates from all backgrounds and experience levels. The company stated that wages for transportation and customer fulfillment roles could average more than $20.50 per hour, with the potential to reach up to $28 per hour depending on the location.

“The holiday season is always a special time at Amazon and we’re excited to hire 250,000 additional people this year to help serve customers across the country,” said John Felton, Amazon’s senior vice president of Worldwide Operations, in a prepared statement sent to media outlets.

“Whether someone is looking for a short-term way to make extra money, or is hoping to take their first step toward a fulfilling and rewarding career at Amazon, there’s a role available for them. A fulfillment or transportation employee who starts with us today will see a 13% increase in pay over the next three years—likely more, including our annual wage investments—and that’s on top of offerings like pre-paid college tuition with Career Choice and health care benefits on day one.”
