- Miami influencer Chef Pii's viral Pink Sauce will be making its way to 4,300 Walmart stores nationwide with the help of Dallas' Dave's Gourmet company, which refined the packaging and recipe of the sauce before launching it commercially. The original recipe included water, sunflower seed oil, raw honey, distilled vinegar, garlic, dragonfruit, and pink Himalayan salt. Pii and Dave's Gourmet entered a partnership, and the sauce is now manufactured under U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidelines in an SQF-certified facility. (dallasinnovates.com)
- The city of Dallas is being sued for an ordinance that bans pedestrians from walking or standing on medians, including prohibiting panhandling. The lawsuit was filed by the Texas Civil Rights Project who claims the regulation is in violation of the First Amendment and seems to criminalize homelessness. According to the case, "the City manufactured an unjustified 'public safety' rationale...and attempted to disguise the Ordinance's real purpose." (WFAA.com)
- The award-winning vegan Earth Burger chain from San Antonio is digitally coming to Dallas. Oomi Digital Kitchen is partnering with Earth Burger to begin offering their food items to customers for pick up or delivery beginning on Jan. 17. Earth Burger's founder explained that their "completely meatless menu features bold recipes and sauces [they] create in-house, bringing out the best flavor in [their] dishes." (CultureMap Dallas)
