Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:
- Dallas Area Rapid Transit is working on restoring major bus routes to normal service. DART has had six months of delays on nine of its major bus routes. DART has been struggling with an ongoing driver shortage. The service was down 163 drivers in June. (D Magazine)
- The City of Dallas has received a score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Municipal Equality Index. The Index is meant to measure a municipality's inclusiveness for LGBTQ+ populations. Dallas was evaluated on its Non-Discrimination Laws, its employee policies, services, law enforcement, and its LGBTQ+ Equality leadership. (Dallas City News)
- According to a report by Texas A&M University's Transportation Institute, Dallas had one of the most congested road networks in Texas. The city had 37 of the 100 most congested roads in the report. Interstate 345 in Dallas was listed in the report's top 10. Advocates have been requesting that the road be torn down but the Texas Department of Transportation argues that the road's traffic demand is too high. (Axios Dallas)
