DALLAS, TX — After two years of cancellations and modifications, residents in cities and counties across the country are looking forward to many of the traditional Independence Day activities that mark the summer holiday. July 4 is tomorrow, so there’s still time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you in 2022.

July 4 Festivities

What: Red, White & Groove

Where: AT&T Discovery Green (208 S. Akard, Dallas)

When: 4 p.m., July 4

A full afternoon of music, food and fun is topped off with a concert from the Old 97's and a digital fireworks show. Matt Hillyer, Summer Dean, Nikki Lane and Devon Gilfillian also will perform.


What: Fair Park Fourth

Where: Fair Park (1300 Robert B. Cullum Blvd., Dallas)

When: 4:30-10 p.m.

This free celebration will feature kids activities, local market vendors, live music, entertainment, food trucks, and other concessions. The evening will end with a spectacular firework show, which can be viewed from inside the Cotton Bowl or across Fair Park.


What: Dallas Winds Star-Spangled Spectacular

Where: Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center (2301 Flora St., Dallas)

When: 1-6 p.m., July 4

The Dallas Winds symphony presents its annual patriotic tribute to the USA. Tickets are required.


What: Freedom Fest

Where: Rodeo Bar (1321 Commerce St., Dallas)

When: 4 p.m., July 4

Rodeo Bar encourages participants to dress in their patriotic best for America's birthday party! The bar will have patriotic drink specials, a live DJ, and a free Rodeo treat for anyone dressed in American flag attire.


What: Old-Fashioned 4th at Old City Park

Where: Old City Park (1515 S. Harwood St., Dallas)

When: 10 a.m., July 4

The family-friendly July 4th celebration will benefit the non-profit Vogel Alcove, which offers services for homeless children and families in Dallas. Watch a parade of bikes, trikes, and scooters in patriotic flair make their way down Main Street, and enjoy Kona Ice, wet and dry slides, a train, and face painting. Ticket pre-sales end July 3, but tickets can be purchased at the door.


What: Sparks & Stripes

Where: Heritage Park (217 S. Main St., Irving); Levy Event Plaza (501 E. Las Colinas Blvd., Irving)

When: All day, July 4

The City of Irving will kick off its annual Independence Day celebration with a 9 a.m. parade in the Heritage District immediately followed by a watermelon reception with live music. Beginning at 6 p.m., there will be food, entertainment, live music and a fireworks show at Levy Event Plaza.


What: Fort Worth's Fourth

Where: Panther Island Pavilion (395 Purcey St., Fort Worth)

When: 5 p.m., July 4

Billed the largest fireworks show in North Texas, the 15th Annual Fort Worth’s Fourth will feature an evening of festival food, drinks, kids activities and live music before the big fireworks display. The fireworks will be in full view along the banks of the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion. Admission is free.
