LPGA Golf Tournament Partners with UNITS for On-Demand Storage

UNITS® Moving and Portable Storage of DFW Metroplex recently provided a convenient solution to help host The Ascendant LPGA Golf Tournament benefitting Volunteers of America (VOA).

The week-long Volunteers of America Classic event was held from September 26 - October 2 at The Colony at Old American Golf Club, part of Golf Clubs at The Tribute. This event raised awareness of VOA's mission to provide affordable housing, senior care, substance abuse solutions, and more to those in need.

UNITS Moving and Portable Storage is a proud vendor, providing five containers for the high-profile annual event. These containers stored golf clubs and other tools and equipment for regripping or tweaking during practice. Others were used for food and beverage storage, volunteer coat check, and storage, as well as around the VIP area.

UNITS Northwest DFW co-owner and operator Todd Strong says this is the second year for the area UNITS franchises to participate in the event while supporting VOA's cause.

"We're proud to offer a convenient solution for the players who may need a repair or adjustment to their clubs and other equipment," says Strong. "With our specialized ROBO delivery system, we're able to push the containers up the cart path without damaging the course!"

This is the only official LPGA Tour event in Texas, featuring 144 of the world's best female golfers playing for a share of the $1.5 million purse. The event offers family-friendly events focused on youth programming, health and wellness, and culinary experiences.

Through this incredible partnership between UNITS and the LPGA, vendors like UNITS are given event passes which they have chosen to share with local high school sports teams. This VIP experience offers a glimpse into playing golf professionally and may offer a source of motivation for student-athletes.

"We love to donate these passes to our high school coaches and athletes," says Strong. "It is a wonderful opportunity to share this experience with student-athletes and give them an up-close look at the professional golf world for women. We enjoy building lasting relationships with local schools and hope they’ll consider using our storage solutions for their big events in the future.”

The partnership with the LPGA boosts visibility for the DFW metro as well as UNITS and VOA, as the tour reaches 220 countries worldwide.
