- In honor of Uterine Fibroid Awareness Month, the Barbara Jordan Leadership Institute, along with partners from the City of Dallas, corporate, and nonprofit sectors, are organizing events to raise awareness about uterine fibroids. The upcoming Self-Care Fair in Dallas at Cedar Crest Golf Course on Jul. 29 aims to provide women with information about this health issue and encourage them to seek medical care. The fair will offer screenings, educational resources, and various activities to empower women to take charge of their health and seek appropriate treatment options for uterine fibroids. - Rev. Frederick Douglass Haynes III of Dallas has been appointed as the new leader of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, succeeding Rev. Jesse Jackson.
