  1. A new report from WalletHub ranked 100 of the biggest cities across the nation based on activity, and a few North Texas cities were named among the worst for an active lifestyle in 2023. Dallas ranked 44th on the list of 100, along with Houston in 33rd, Austin in 16th, and Fort Worth in 68th. These cities will need improvement, as they are shown to be less suitable for supporting active lifestyles among residents. (CW33 Dallas)
  2. A 22-year-old Dallas man who allegedly sold machine gun conversion devices on Instagram is facing charges. Undercover officers contacted Jeremiah Dwyen Ashley for a purchase in 2022, then conducted a search warrant when they met in person. The Ashley admitted he sold Glock switches on Instagram. If he is convicted of the charges he will face up to 20 years in federal prison. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
  3. A woman and her son were severely burned in a southeast Dallas apartment fire on Thursday morning, according to officials. The Dallas Fire-Rescue team reported that a man who was also burned in the fire admitted to setting the fire, and he was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle for treatment. Two units on the top and bottom floors of one building were damaged, but additional information about the incident has not yet been released. (WFAA-TV)
