From El Paso’s earliest days, the mix of travelers who have moved through Paso del Norte left their mark on the meals that grace our tables, as well as the tables of our lost restaurants, including the Hacienda Café and Café Central. Lost Restaurants of El Paso walks you through our city’s culinary history complete with pictures and menus.
The Historical Society will host the book sale event at the Texaco gas station on August 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. You will recognize many of the restaurants and proprietors in the book, as well as be introduced to others you may not have known, all while having the chance to explore the familiar green and white pagoda-style architecture of the century old Texaco station.
