El Paso park renamed to Trotter Memorial Park to honor young flood victims (kfoxtv.com) — Fortaleza Park in far east El Paso will now be called Trotter Memorial Park, after city council voted to honor two young siblings lost in the July Ruidoso floods. Their parents say the renaming reflects the children’s impact on the community and hope to create a foundation in their memory.

Local bakery donates to poverty in Ciudad Juárez, invites community to join (kvia.com) — An East El Paso bakery owner is turning a family tradition of helping families in Ciudad Juárez into a community-wide donation drive, and she’s inviting neighbors to pitch in. Délice Bakehouse on Trawood is collecting toys, blankets, toiletries, school supplies, winter clothes, medical items, and tarps, and volunteers can even help deliver donations across the border.

El Paso Missed Out On A List Of The Best Tamales (klaq.com) — El Paso’s beloved tamale scene just got snubbed from Yelp’s new Top 25 tamale spots list, despite locals knowing some of the best are made right here. The piece highlights how family-run kitchens, church groups, and parking-lot vendors don’t always show up in app rankings, but remain central to the city’s food culture and holiday traditions.
   

4. Estela's Estrellas: El Paso cancer patients receive ‘hope kits' to remind them no one fights alone (ktsm.com) — Cancer patients at Texas Oncology El Paso just received 50 “hope kits” filled with blankets, tea, grocery gift cards, and handwritten messages from the Stand With Estela Casas Cancer Foundation and local students known as The Northwest Chicks. The annual effort aims to lift spirits during a difficult season and invites El Pasoans to support patients and families through donations to the foundation.
   

5. El Paso man arrested for animal cruelty after deputies find deceased dog (cbs4local.com) — Deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 55-year-old man in Canutillo on multiple counts of animal cruelty after finding a dead dog and other animals in poor condition. He is being held at the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $15,000 bond, highlighting ongoing local enforcement of animal welfare laws.
