El Paso Comic Con 2026: Pam Grier, Kevin Smith, and Jason Mewes headline guest list (kfoxtv.com) — Big-name guests are headed to downtown as El Paso Comic Con 2026 takes over the El Paso Convention Center May 1–3, bringing Pam Grier, Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, and more. Organizers have opened ticket and badge sales online, giving local fans plenty of time to plan for photo ops, panels, and a packed convention floor.
   

2. El Paso middle school harp prodigy needs help to get his own instrument (kvia.com) — A 12-year-old harp prodigy at Magoffin Middle School in El Paso needs the community’s help to keep his musical progress going. Because harps are costly and hard to access, his teacher has launched a fundraiser so he can finally practice on his own instrument at home and fully join local music programs.
   

3. Rep. Escobar files bill to modernize El Paso air traffic control tower (elpasotimes.com) — El Paso’s aging air traffic control tower may finally be replaced under a new bill filed by U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar to secure dedicated federal funding. The proposal aims to modernize the El Paso International Airport tower, improve safety for local travelers, and bring new jobs and investment to the Borderland’s aviation infrastructure.
   

4. El Paso County plans major updates with new bond projects (ktsm.com) — El Paso County is moving ahead with voter-approved bond projects that will upgrade parks, build a new medical examiner’s office, and construct a modern animal shelter. Residents will also see investments in clean water, sewer service, drainage in Canutillo, and road modernization, driven by growth on the city’s outskirts and demand for better quality-of-life amenities.

El Paso County constable's office targets unpaid child support warrants (cbs4local.com) — El Paso County Constable Precinct 3 is stepping up enforcement of warrants for unpaid child support, even though such warrants are rarely executed and often complicated by out-of-state or Mexico-based defendants. With nearly 20,000 cases in five years, local officials and residents stress that warrants should be a last resort while urging parents to keep courts and the attorney general updated about changing circumstances.
