Backed by federal Safe Streets funding, the effort will use crash data to target dangerous spots and upgrade infrastructure like signals and roundabouts starting in January.

El Paso City Council to discuss on new ‘vicious,' ‘aggressive' dog ordinances (ktsm.com) — El Paso City Council is set to debate new ‘vicious’ and ‘aggressive’ dog ordinances that would tighten rules for owners and require Animal Services investigations after reported incidents. The proposal fills gaps in state law on animal-on-animal attacks, adds stricter compliance rules, and outlines how owners can appeal or later remove these designations.
   

3. UMC El Paso cites ‘exceptional stability, vision and integrity' as CEO pay rises to almost $1.5 million (kvia.com) — University Medical Center of El Paso’s CEO Jacob Cintron will now earn nearly $1.5 million annually after the hospital board approved a substantial raise and larger incentive package. Board leaders cite record revenues, expanded services, and the successful 2024 bond that’s funding new facilities and specialty care for El Paso County residents as key reasons for the pay increase.
   

4. El Paso's Plaza Hotel to exhibit Tom Lea illustrations (ktsm.com) — An exhibit of more than 20 Tom Lea illustrations tied to the classic book “Forty Years at El Paso” opens tonight at The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park downtown, with free admission by registration. The show, created with the Tom Lea Institute, runs through March 2026 with additional monthly receptions, giving El Paso art lovers several chances to explore this local history.
   

5.
