Launched in March 2024, the microtransit system has exploded from a few thousand annual shuttle riders to hundreds of thousands, easing car‑free soldiers’ access to work, medical care, and recreation across Central Texas. 
• Fort Hood staff sergeant sentenced to 26 years in prison for wife's murder (kxxv.com) — A Fort Hood staff sergeant has been sentenced by court-martial to 26 years in prison, loss of pay, and a dishonorable discharge for killing his wife after an argument at their Killeen home. Investigators from Fort Hood and Killeen Police coordinated on the case, and officials say the outcome reflects a strong push for justice and support for the victim’s family.
• Fort Hood Army doctor sued for secretly recording, inappropriately touching patients (fox7austin.com) — An Army OB-GYN formerly serving at Fort Hood is facing numerous criminal charges, while attorneys pursue claims alleging he secretly recorded and improperly examined patients at Darnall Medical Center on post. Lawyers say hundreds of women could be affected and are seeking to hold the Army accountable for alleged supervision failures, with Fort Hood officials already placing the doctor in pretrial confinement.
