• Man Dies in Early Morning Jasper County House Fire (easttexasbanner.com) — An early-morning house fire on FM 2800 in Jasper claimed the life of a 55-year-old local man and injured an elderly woman who was rescued by a sheriff’s deputy. Jasper County investigators and the State Fire Marshal are working to determine the cause, with multiple local agencies, including Jasper Fire and Jasper Police, responding to the scene.
