3rd Annual Colt Bolt Fun Run & Fundraiser Raises Record-Breaking $70,000 for Pattison Elementary

The annual fundraising campaign is designed to build school spirit, encourage a healthy lifestyle and raise funds for school needs.

The 3rd Annual Colt Bolt Fun Run & Fundraiser, organized by the Hazel S. Pattison Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA), recently raised just over $70,000 to benefit Pattison’s students, faculty and staff.

“We are so grateful to our Pattison family and our sponsors for making Colt Bolt not only fun, but such an overwhelming success,” said Stacy Lombardi, PTA president. “Thanks to their support, we exceeded our fundraising goal by $10,000.”

The two-week fundraising campaign – designed to build school spirit, encourage a healthy lifestyle and raise funds for school needs and PTA programs – kicked off on October 3 with a pep rally and culminated on October 14 with the fun run. More than 1,000 students participated, raising funds from all 50 states.

“As an added challenge this year, we encouraged the student body to get at least one donation from each of the 50 states, and they did!” added Lombardi.

Unlike traditional fundraisers, all Colt Bolt proceeds stay at Pattison. Last year, the funds were used to purchase nearly 50 iPads for classroom use, fund PTA programs like Carnival and Mornings with Mom, provide new math tubs for each class, and more. Allocations from this year’s funds will be announced in the coming weeks.
