• Fort Bend ISD explores closing schools to redesign attendance zones, sparking strong parent reaction (khou.com) — Families in Sugar Land and across Fort Bend ISD are facing possible elementary school closures and major attendance zone changes that could take effect after a March 2026 board vote. Seven campuses, including Sugar Mill and Austin Parkway elementaries, are being studied for closure or consolidation due to uneven enrollment, and parents are already voicing strong concerns as boundary proposals and public feedback phases approach early next year.
   

• 17 WCJC students earn nursing degrees (fbherald.com) — Sugar Land residents are among 17 Wharton County Junior College students who just earned Associate Degrees in Nursing, celebrated with a fall pinning ceremony in Wharton.
