Fort Bend OEM Warns Of Rising Levels At San Bernard River
The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for western portions of Fort Bend County after 6 inches of rain fell overnight.
RICHMOND, TX — One of the Houston areas most flood-prone regions is keeping a careful eye on rising levels, officials in Fort Bend County said.
The Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management said on their Facebook page that they are keeping a watchful eye on rising levels in the San Bernard River.
The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for western portions of Fort Bend County after six inches of rain fell in the region overnight. A flash flood warning is also in effect for Fort Bend County and seven other counties until 12:45 p.m.

Officials said the San Bernard River rose at least nine feet in a span of just four hours by 9 a.m. Wednesday.
The Brazos River has also risen, but is still well within it's banks, county officials added. Despite the heavy rain, county officials said they don't expect the rising river levels to impact homes or businesses but there cold be some flash flooding.
