Lamar School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Lamar is August 28. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Lamar CISD has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/14 - 8/16: New Teacher Staff Development
• 8/17 - 8/24: Staff Development
• 8/25: Workday
• 8/29: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/29: No School (Fort Bend Fair Day)

October

• 10/6: Grades 6-12 Early Release Day (12:15 p.m.)
• 10/27: Grades K-5 Early Release Day (11:30 a.m)

November

• 11/9: Grades K-5 Early Release Day (11:30 a.m)
• 11/10: Grades K-5 Early Release Day (11:30 a.m), Grades 6-12 Early Release Day (12:15 p.m.)
• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/22: Grades 6-12 Early Release Day (12:15 p.m.)
• 12/25 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/8: No School for Students (Staff Development/Workday)
• 1/15: No School (MLK Day)

February

• 2/16: Grades K-5 Early Release Day (11:30 a.m)
• 2/19: No School for Students (Staff Development)
• 2/23: Grades 6-12 Early Release Day (12:15 p.m.)

March

• 3/9: Grades K-5 Early Release Day (11:30 a.m)
• 3/12 - 3/16: No School (Spring Break)
• 3/29: No School (Easter Break), Bad Weather Make-Up Day (if needed)
• 3/30: No School for Students (Staff Development/Teacher DMA)

April

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/7: Last Day of School, Grades 6-12 Early Release Day (12:15 p.m.)
