Lightning Knocks Out Traffic Signal During Storm
Traffic is being detoured from Township Lane and FM 1092 after lightning damaged a traffic signal Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

MISSOURI CITY, TEXAS – A lightning strike damaged a traffic signal at Township Lane and FM 1092 in Missouri City during a storm Wednesday. It may take several days for the signal to be repaired, city officials said.
Stacie Walker, communications director for the City of Missouri City said crews were working to repair the traffic signal after the transformer near the roadway was struck by lightning. The repairs will require excavation near the signal.
Motorists in the area will not be able to use Township Lane from Murphy Road until further notice, Walker said. Officials said traffic control devices will be in place. Travel north and south on Murphy Road will not be impacted, Walker said.
