Pet Supplies Plus Hosts Grand Opening In Sugar Land Feb. 23-24

SUGAR LAND, TX — Pet lovers will soon have a new place in Sugar Land to explore with their beloved furbabies. Pet Supplies Plus will open their new store this month at 115434 S. Highway 6 in Sugar Land.

Pet Supplies Plus will offer products galore for all types of pets, while saving pet owners money. But wait, there's more. Pet Supplies Plus will also offer amenities like self-pet wash stations, knowledgeable pet care team members, and carry-out service.

To celebrate, the new location will be hosting a weekend long grand opening event with a Bark N’ Brunch taking place on Sunday, Feb. 24.

The store is owned by local business partners, Riyaz Momin and Zikar Maredia. Momin and Maredia have always had plans of opening their own business, but wanted to find something they were truly passionate about.

After noticing the lack of expansive, full-service pet stores in the area, they knew that Pet Supplies Plus would be the perfect addition Sugar Land.

As a community partner, local franchisees Riyaz and Zikar, will partner with local animal shelters, rescue organizations and non-profits such as Texas Sled Dog Rescue, Saving Our Companion Animals and Texas Gulf Coast Bull Terrier Rescue to host year-round adoption events, fundraisers and pet food and product drives.

They will also host fun, interactive events for pets designed to socially connect pet parents throughout the Sugar Land community.

To welcome the community, Riyaz and Zikar, will host a weekend long grand opening event:

• Saturday, Feb. 23 - Sunday, Feb. 24 – Neighbors have a shot at winning a complimentary, one-year supply of dog or cat food.
• Sunday, Feb. 24 – Pet Supplies Plus of Sugar Land will be hosting a Bark N’ Brunch from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. for members of the Sugar Land community.
• Saturday, Feb. 23- Sunday, February 24– Pet Supplies Plus of Sugar Land will offer complimentary nail trims and dog washes for pets.
• Saturday, Feb. 23 – Mystery scratch cards, between the amounts of $5-$50, will be given to neighbors throughout the day.
• Sunday, February 24– The first 100 neighbors who enter the store will receive a coupon for a free, small bag of dog or cat food – valid on any brand within the store.

Riyaz and Zikar, said pet parents are always welcome to shop with their dogs at the store, where knowledgeable team members are on-site to answer questions, offer tips or just get on their hands and knees to play with pets who enter the store.

“We love that you are in the store, we want to have fun with you – we don’t just want to sell you pet food,” Riyaz said. “Our Minus the Hassle tagline refers to making shopping for your pet an enjoyable, easy experience. For example, we don’t want you lugging your food out to your car – that’s our job. If you want to wash your dog, come on in. We’ll deal with the mess that’s tied to a bathing session.”

Neighbors have access to an experienced and knowledgeable team help them find everything they need. Each team member is extensively trained in the areas of natural and holistic foods and are able to answer a broad range of questions about dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and fish.

Shoppers can also take advantage of the free Preferred Pet Club Card, which offers members regular coupons on products they purchase frequently and monthly specials, resulting in big savings.
