Sugar Land Seeks Applicants For New HOA Task Force

The task force will work with the City and other organizations to provide vital quality of life services to the residents in Sugar Land.

SUGAR LAND, TX — Sugar Land residents who are interested in making a significant impact in their city are encouraged to apply to serve on the newly created City/HOA Maintenance Responsibilities Citizen Task Force. The city is accepting applications through March 13 for this task force.

In an effort to maintain the “Sugar Land Way,” the task force aims to define and clarify the responsibilities of the City and the different organizations involved, in order to provide the highest standards to the residents.

This includes maintaining aging infrastructure and facilities, at the high level expected by our residents, and constantly improving the appearance of the community - all while maintaining a focus on the value for resident's tax dollars.

The task force will:

  • participate in community dialogue and public roundtable discussions regarding shared concerns of the city and HOAs
  • identify public infrastructure service gaps
  • review current policies and provide input and direction on policy and ordinance changes.

The task force will work with the City and other organizations to provide vital quality of life services to the residents in Sugar Land. These services include the maintenance of the right-of-way, streets, trees, irrigation, street lighting, and many other services.

Applicants must be residents of the city. Informational meetings focusing on roles and responsibilities of the task force will be held on Feb. 27 and March 7, at 6 p.m., at Sugar Land City Hall, 2700 Town Center Blvd. North. City Council is expected to appoint 15 members to the task force on April 16.
