• 'I never thought I would live to see something so good': Injured veteran receives mortgage free home (kdhnews.com) — An injured Army veteran and his young family have just received a fully furnished, mortgage-free home in nearby Belton, chosen in part for its easy access to Temple’s VA facilities and the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home. The national nonprofit Building Homes for Heroes partnered with PulteGroup to make the gift possible, giving the family long-term stability and keeping vital Temple veteran services close by.
