• TEA recognizes Victoria ISD mental and behavioral health program (victoriaadvocate.com) — Victoria ISD’s Bend the Trend program, created with Gulf Bend Center, has been honored by the Texas Education Agency for improving student mental and behavioral health. Serving three local elementary schools, the initiative has helped 66 students, cutting crises and discipline incidents while giving teachers tools to better support kids and families.
   

• Complaints filed and push for city ordinance changes following stray cat incident (crossroadstoday.com) — A Victoria County resident says a long-running stray cat problem near his home has escalated, including a recent attack by loose dogs and a slow response from Victoria County Animal Control. He’s filed multiple complaints, is urging residents not to feed stray cats, and is pushing for changes to the city’s animal-related ordinances that could affect how Victoria handles feral animals.
   

• Arrest Report: DeWitt County Dec 12 to Dec 18, 2025 (victoriaadvocate.com) — DeWitt County’s latest arrest report lists recent charges and bonds for residents from Cuero, Yoakum, Yorktown, and other nearby communities, with some cases tied to Victoria County probation and support matters.
