Officials urge affected residents to closely monitor insurance statements and credit reports, and the network has tightened security while working with law enforcement and regulators.
   

2. 'Welcome to the World'—Forrest Frank and Wife Welcome Second Son Just Before Christmas (churchleaders.com) — Christian musician Forrest Frank and his wife, Grace Quinn, welcomed their second son, Sonny, in a home birth in Waco just before Christmas. Texas Man Accused of Trying to Burn Neighbor's Home Sets Himself on Fire (complex.com) — Waco residents along Arra Street quickly doused flames after a neighbor allegedly tried to set their home on fire, only for the suspect to ignite himself instead. Police say the man had reportedly harassed the residents with threats and slurs before the blaze, and he was later found hiding in a nearby trailer and taken to a Waco-area hospital for treatment.

Waco woman surrenders severely malnourished dog to authorities, police say (kwtx.com) — Waco police say a local woman surrendered a severely malnourished dog after officers found it too weak to stand and brought it to Pet Circle Regional Animal Center on Circle Road. Veterinarians described the dog’s condition as extremely poor and planned risky surgery, while the owner was arrested on a cruelty to non-livestock animal charge.
   

5. Austin doctor, practice to pay $13.6M to settle false billing allegations (statesman.com) — A major Texas pain management practice with a Waco clinic will pay $13.6 million to settle allegations of improper billing for urine drug tests to government health programs. While liability wasn’t legally determined, the settlement includes a five-year federal oversight agreement aimed at tightening billing and compliance across all locations.
