If you haven't guessed already, the celebrated returning item is McDonald's famous snack wrap!

According to additional press materials provided by McDonald's, the snack wrap features one of the chain's new "McCrispy" strips, "a juicy chicken strip made with all white meat," topped with crisp shredded lettuce and shredded cheese, all wrapped in a soft flour tortilla.

Customers will be able to order their snack wraps in two delicious flavors, according to McDonald's:

  • Spicy: Bold, zesty and unapologetically fiery, the spicy snack wrap "brings the heat with a habanero kick that fans know and love from the spicy McCrispy sandwich."
  • Ranch: Smooth, rich and irresistibly savory, the ranch snack wrap "delivers a satisfying burst of cool ranch goodness, with hints of garlic and onion."

McDonald's noted the company was excited to bring the snack wrap back to menus after years of fans demanding its return, and it will remain on the menu "as long as [customers] keep enjoying it."

The snack wrap will officially make its triumphant return July 10, according to McDonald's.

Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald's USA, released a simple statement Tuesday in response to questions about the return of the iconic snack wrap to menus.

"It's back," Erlinger said in a statement.

Customers will be able to snag a snack wrap both a la carte or as a combo meal, which includes two snack wraps, medium fries and a drink of choice, according to additional press materials provided by McDonald's.

A Brief History of Snack Wraps

The beloved menu item was first introduced to McDonald's menus in 2006, initially only available in crispy ranch.

The following year, McDonald's began to offer snack wraps with the option to substitute grilled chicken or honey mustard sauce. Salsa roja and chipotle BBQ were also available in some markets.

The snack wrap was phased out nationally in 2016, however the company noted the item "never left fans' hearts."

"From countless social media posts to full-fledged petitions, [customers] never gave up on their favorite menu item," McDonald's noted in press materials. "They're the ones who inspired us to make its return to the menu happen."

Returning Menu Items

The iconic fast food giant is no stranger to giving, taking and returning beloved items to and from its menus.

One of the most prominent examples of this is the always-in-demand McRib pork sandwich that was first introduced to customers in the early 1980's but will often disappear from menus for months, even years.

Recently, the famed sandwich has made a consistent temporary return to McDonald's menus in the U.S. each year since 2020, typically around November or December.

Prior to 2020, the beloved sandwich had been absent from U.S. menus since 2012.
