DIY Father's Day Gift: Clay Paperweight

Even during his busiest days at the office, this sweet paperweight is sure to make Dad smile.

This clay paperweight might be just what Dad needs to recover from a stressful day at work. If Dad doesn't have an office job, he can use the paperweight at home or as a decoration. After all, this gift is just as much a piece of art as it is an office supply!

1. Shape the clay into a small ball, then use the rolling pin to roll it into a flat circle that's about 1/4 inch high.

2. Plan a design using the rocks. Kids can spell out a word or phrase, or just randomly place the rocks. When planning, kids can place the rocks on the dough; just be sure not to firmly press them into the dough.

3. When your kid is happy with the design, press the rocks firmly into the dough.

4. Allow the clay to dry, following the manufacturer's instructions for drying time.

5. Once the clay dries kids can paint the clay, if they'd like.
