DIY Father's Day Gift: Stamped Tie Clip
Add a personalized touch to Dad's work wear with a simple stamped tie clip.
Add a personalized touch to one of Dad's usual accessories using a fun leather punch technique that only requires two special tools. The technique is so fun that you might just start adding stamps to everything!
Kids can choose any phrase they'd like to stamp to the leather, as long as it fits onto the tie clip.

1. Use a craft knife to cut a leather scrap into a piece the same size as the blank tie clip.
2. Ask kids to choose what they'd like the tie clip to say. It can say anything from "Best Dad" to "I love you." Just be sure the letters will fit on the leather. If your phrase is short, you might also decide where you want to align the phrase, whether it's centered or starting on the right or left.

3. Place the first letter of the phrase onto the leather, letter side down. Using the stamping hammer, hold the letter in place as you tap the top of the stamp. (If you've never stamped leather before, you might consider stamping on a piece of scrap leather for practice.)
4. Repeat step 3, stamping one letter at a time onto the leather.
5. Glue the leather scrap onto the blank tie clip.
