DIY Halloween Costume: Cotton Candy

Your favorite carnival treat can also become your favorite Halloween costume of all time!

Thanks to spray paint and glue, most of the DIY time for this costume is spent waiting for the materials to dry. The hat and cotton candy cone are totally optional, but they add a nice touch to an already-awesome DIY.

Instructions:

1. Using the hot glue gun, glue pillow stuffing all over the dress or T-shirt and pants. Allow the glue to dry.

2. Spray pink spray paint onto the stuffing. You don't have to cover all the stuffing with paint. In fact, the costume will look more realistic if you have some white, fluffy spots mixed in.

3. To make the cone, wrap a sheet of cardstock into a cone shape and secure it with tape.

4. Wrap red washi tape around the cone diagonally to create a spiral.

5. Using the hot glue gun, glue pillow stuffing on top of the cone.

6. Spray pink spray paint onto the cone top.

7. Repeat Steps 3-4 to create a cone hat.

8. Tape or glue a length of elastic, one end on each side of the cone. This will ensure the hat sits securely on your head.

9. Repeat steps 5-6 to add cotton candy to your cone hat, gluing the pillow stuffing so that it obscures as much of the elastic as possible.
