DIY Halloween Costume: Mummy

This isn't your typical toilet paper mummy! Give the usual mummy DIY an upgrade with supplies you probably already have at home.

Upgrade the traditional toilet paper mummy costume with strips of old coffee-stained T-shirts. You probably have everything you already need at home, so it's also budget-friendly!



What you'll need:

Fabric scissors

Instructions:

1. Using the fabric scissors, cut the up-cycled T-shirts into strips that are 1-2-inches wide. Don't worry about cutting the strips too perfectly; varying the sizes will make the costume look even better.

2. If you have time, soak the fabric strips in a bowl of brewed coffee to give them an old, musty look.

3. Squeeze the coffee out of the strips and allow the fabric to dry.


Safety pins

4. On the big night, wear white clothing as the base of your costume. Wrap the fabric strips around your body, pinning them in place with safety pins every couple of inches. Pin the fabric from the inside of your shirt, if possible, so that the pins are not visible on the outside.
