DIY Mother's Day Gift: Felt Flower Bookmarks
Is Mom a bookworm? Help kids create a pretty textured bookmark for her next read.
Moms who love to read will adore this simple yet useful DIY gift. We've used green paper clips to look like the flower stem, but you can use paper clips of any color. Just be sure they're smooth enough to slide over the pages of a book without ripping or tearing the page.
If your kid wants lots of texture, encourage them to layer different flower stickers on top of each other or even add in other stickers they think Mom will like.

1. Heat up the low-temperature glue gun.

2. While the glue gun heats up, plan your flower design using the felt flower stickers. Stickers can be layered or combined to create larger flowers. Since the paper clip is relatively small, the design can be very simple.

3. When kids are happy with their design, begin adding the flower stickers to the top of the paper clip by peeling off the sticker backing and applying it to the clip. Be sure to focus the design near the top of the clip so that Mom can use the bottom and center of the clip to mark her page.

4. When the flower is complete, use scissors to cut out a piece of scrap felt to fit over the back of the flowers.
5. Using the glue gun, apply the felt to the back of the flowers. (This step will need to be completed by an adult since the glue gun is hot.)
6. Use scissors to trim around the felt and neaten the edges, if necessary.
