DIY Mother's Day Gift: Make Your Own Sugar Scrub
Gift Mom what she really wants on Mother's Day: a relaxing soak with a homemade sugar scrub.
After a long day, Mom certainly does deserve a soothing scrub. This Mother's Day, mix up a custom scrub using her favorite scent. Here we've used lavender, a popular scent for relaxation, but you can substitute any essential oil you'd like.

- Glass jar with a lid
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup coconut oil
- Measuring cup
- Lavender essential oil (or mom's favorite essential oil scent)
- Spoon
- Food coloring (optional)

Instructions:
1. Measure a cup of white sugar, then pour it into the jar.

2. Measure a cup of coconut oil, then pour it into the jar.

3. Add five drops of essential oil. You can add additional drops if you want the sugar scrub to smell stronger, but don't overdo it.
4. Using a spoon, mix all the ingredients.

5. If you'd like, add a few drops of food coloring and stir it into the scrub mixture. Check the food color packaging for tips on how to combine primary colors to create secondary colors like purple.
6. Tightly screw the lid onto the jar. Present the gift to Mom to use during her next bath or shower.
