DIY Mother's Day Gift: Mini Canvas Fridge Magnets

Mom would love to hang her little artist's masterpiece on the fridge or even on the filing cabinet at work. Help kids create works of art using these mini canvases with magnets attached to the back. Kids can paint anything from abstract art to tiny portraits.

What you'll need:

• Newspapers or other covering for work surface
• Mini canvases
• Acrylic paint
• Paint brushes
• Scissors
• Magnet

Instructions:

1. Cover the work surface with newspapers or another covering.

2. Place a mini canvas on the covering. Let kids use their creativity to paint the canvas using paint brushes and acrylic paint. The canvas could be totally abstract, with just a mix of colors. Kids could also draw mini portraits of Mom or write a sweet phrase like "I love you." There's no limit to how many of these you can make, so give kids a chance to be totally creative.

3. Allow the mini works of art to dry.

4. Use the scissors to cut out a magnet that's the same size as the mini canvas. Peel the adhesive backing off the magnet and apply the magnet to the back of the mini canvas.
