Earth Day Craft: Recycled Glo-Stick Bracelet
The fun's not over when glo-stick bracelets go dark! Give them a new life with this eco-friendly project.

Glo-stick bracelets are lots of fun while they're glowing, but once they go dark they're destined for the landfill.
Next time your kid's bracelet stops glowing, turn it into a brand new accessory with just a few dabs of glue and several yards of colorful yarn.
We used variegated yarn for this project, so the yarn will change color as kids wrap. However, you can use solid yarn colors if you prefer.

1. Disconnect the glo-stick bracelet. This will make it easier to wrap the yarn.

2. Wrap the yarn tail around one end of the bracelet, knotting the yarn to secure it in a loop. Slide the loop so that it's just at the edge of the connecting tube, not covering the tube.
3. Add a dab of glue to secure the yarn.
4. Begin wrapping the yarn around the bracelet, wrapping over top of the knot to hide it.
5. Continue wrapping around the bracelet, leaving no spaces between wraps. Add a dab of glue every inch or so to secure the yarn, then begin wrapping again.
5. When you reach the connecting tube on the opposite side of the bracelet, tie the yarn in a knot just as you did in step 2.
6. Tuck the knot under the last few wraps of the bracelet to hide it, then add a dab of glue to secure the yarn.
