Earth Day Craft: Sun Prints
With help from adults (and the sun's UV rays!), kids can create beautiful botanical prints to frame or give as a gift!

Turn your yard into a DIY workshop with this simple craft that both adults and kids will love.
This project works best on bright, sunny days. Plan your design indoors out of bright light to get the best exposure on the prints.

Instructions:
1. Help kids collect leaves, flowers, and other natural findings. Materials that can be laid flat work best for this project.

2. Open the sun print kit, being careful not to expose the sheets to bright light or the sun. Place one sun print sheet on a flat surface such as a wood board. This will help keep the designs in place when you transport them outdoors later.
3. Arrange the nature findings on the sheet, pressing them flat when possible. (The flatter the finding, the more crisp the silhouette will appear on the print.)
4. Place the acrylic sheet on top of the sheet to hold everything in place.
5. Transport the sheet outdoors on the board and expose it to the sun. The average exposure time is about 20 minutes, but check your sun print kit's instructions for more information.
6. Lift the acrylic sheet and remove the findings from the sun print sheet. Ta da! You will have a beautiful botanical print.
7. Repeat steps 2-6 again for as many sheets as you and your kid would like to print. Prints can be framed as art or given as greeting cards.
