Frozen Berries Recalled For Possible Hepatitis A Contamination
The berries were sold at Kroger stores across the country.
Some frozen berries sold at Kroger have been recalled because they may be contaminated with Hepatitis A, according to the FDA.
A sample of the berries tested by the FDA was found to be contaminated with Hepatitis A and the agency informed Kroger. No illnesses have been reported so far, according to the FDA.
The berries were sold at all stores that fall under the Kroger banner across the country.

Kroger has removed the berries from store shelves and have begun alerting customers who may have purchased the products.

The FDA said consumers should not eat the affected products and should return them for a full refund.

Hepatitis A is a liver disease that can be transmitted through the consumption of contaminated food or water, according to the CDC. The disease does not result in chronic infection and can be prevented with a vaccine, the CDC says.
