GoodRx has always been committed to providing Americans with the health care they need at prices they can afford. Through their prescription savings, online doctor visits and other useful resources, they’ve helped over 18 million Americans save on health care.
But for some low-income patients, discounts and savings just aren’t enough. Many Americans are struggling to pay rent and put food on the table, let alone come up with the means to pay for their prescription medications. Plus, the rate of unemployment in the U.S. due to the COVID-19 pandemic certainly does not help Americans easily afford their prescriptions.

Some communities feel this struggle more than others — Black and Brown communities face disproportionately high rates of certain diseases yet have the hardest time getting access to care.
In order to help serve these struggling communities who have been impacted the most, GoodRx has decided to take charge against the social injustice that many Americans are unfortunately facing. The leading resource in health care savings is proud to announce their latest charitable initiative: GoodRx Helps.

Its first effort to address health inequity is The GoodRx Helps Medication Assistance Program, which provides free medications through community and charitable clinics across the U.S., giving direct assistance to those who have nowhere else to turn.
GoodRx is partnering with the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC), an established leader in helping the medically underserved access affordable health care. The NAFC is helping GoodRx identify communities and clinics with a majority of patient populations in need of health care assistance.
From the Brooklyn Free Clinic in New York to Clínica Tepati in California, more than 23 participating clinics across the country can each enroll hundreds of patients — and GoodRx will provide them with access to the medications they need at no cost.
After working closely with these participating clinics, physicians and medical professionals, the Medication Assistance Program has already been receiving positive feedback. “The new GoodRx Helps program is a win/win. It provides underserved patients with crucial medications at no cost and saves the clinic money that can be redirected to other areas of patient care,” says Jodi Schrobilgen, Clinical Coordinator at Get Up Project in Austin, Texas.
Janeth Arteaga Castilleja, Medication Coordinator at Christ Clinic in Katy, TX refers to GoodRx as “a blessing in the middle of chaos” and highlights how the program is giving struggling patients one less thing to worry about. “GoodRx has been a blessing to many in our community through their discounted medication services. However, the additional financial assistance GoodRx Helps has brought to many of our patients’ lives is incomparable,” she says.
Moving forward, GoodRx is committed to expanding this program to reach more clinics and people in need in the year ahead. If you’d like to learn more about GoodRx Helps and the Medication Assistance Program, you can contact goodrxhelps@goodrx.com.
