Nestlé Toll House Cookie Product May Contain Wood, Company Warns
Nestlé USA said it's recalling some of its Toll House chocolate chip cookie dough products that could be contaminated with wood.

ARLINGTON, VA — Nestlé USA is voluntarily recalling one of its Toll House chocolate chip cookie products that federal regulators said could be contaminated with pieces of wood.
The recall applies to two batches of Nestlé Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough “break and bake” Bar products that were produced on April 24-25, the company announced in a notice posted Friday on the U.S. Food & Drug Administration's website. The recall doesn't involve other Nestlé Toll House products, the company said, including other varieties of refrigerated cookie dough in “break and bake” bars, rolls, tubs, or edible cookie dough.
The product was distributed at retailers in the United States. Further details about where the products were sold weren't immediately available.

No illnesses or injuries have been reported, the company said. The recall was issued out of an abundance of caution after a small number of consumers contacted Nestlé about the issue.
"We are working with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) on this voluntary recall and will cooperate with them fully," the Arlington, Virginia-based company said in the announcement. "We are confident that this is an isolated issue and we have taken action to address."

The recall affects products with batch codes 311457531K and 311557534K. The batches have "best by" dates of Aug. 22 and Oct. 23.
Consumers who have those codes should not prepare or consume the cookies, and should return the product to the store where it was bought for a replacement or refund.
