See some of the most amazing Olympic medal moments and the athletes who gave their all in Week 1 of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

ACROSS AMERICA — Team USA has seen a number of setbacks with COVID-19, injuries and performance setbacks that took athletes out of competition in the first week of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
The United States had collected seven medals as of midday Wednesday, United States time, and ranks 10th overall in the Olympic medal count.
Lindsey Jacobellis took home the first gold medal for Team USA in the women's snowboard cross event. The team also scooped up five silver medals in events for the men's super-G, figure skating team event, woman's mogul, men's freeski big air and woman's snowboard slopestyle. Rounding out Team USA's medal total was Jessie Diggins, who won bronze in the woman's sprint free cross-county.
