McDonald's Celebrates The Summer
The new McFlurry is just one of the recent additions announced by McDonald's in hopes of giving customers extra incentive to stop by their local restaurant this summer.
Earlier this week, the fast food giant announced the long-awaited return of its beloved snack wrap, a menu item customers have been asking about for a number of years.
According to press materials provided by McDonald's, the snack wrap features one of the chain's new "McCrispy" strips, "a juicy chicken strip made with all white meat," topped with crisp shredded lettuce and shredded cheese, all wrapped in a soft flour tortilla.
The beloved menu item was first introduced to McDonald's menus in 2006 but was phased out nationally in 2016, however the company noted the item "never left fans' hearts."
The snack wrap will officially make its triumphant return to restaurants July 10, according to McDonald's.
The company also confirmed late last month extended hours will be coming to more of their restaurants this summer.
"Our fans know there's no better way to end an unforgettable night than by feasting on your favorite McDonald's order," a spokesperson said in a statement sent to Patch last month. "That's why, as the summer season kicks off, we're excited to offer up more ways for customers to satisfy their late-night cravings with more choices and expanded hours at more restaurants."
The spokesperson confirmed a "vast majority of McDonald's restaurants nationwide" would be open until midnight or later starting Memorial Day weekend and continuing beyond summer.
The move to expanded hours comes as McDonald's and its franchisees expect to hire up to 375,000 employees in their restaurants across the country this summer, according to a news release provided by the company.
