Instructions:

1. Cut enough stretchy cord to wrap around your wrist, plus a couple of extra inches.

2. Tie a double knot near the end of the stretchy cord. This will stop the beads from falling off when you begin stringing.

Beads

3. Plan your bead pattern by laying the beads and charms (if you're using them) in a straight line. You can use the same bead, or mix it up and use lots of different colors.

4. Once you know what design you'd like, begin stringing the beads onto the stretchy cord one at a time.

Beadalon beading needle

5. If you can't get the stretchy cord through the bead's hole, thread a beading needle with the stretchy cord. Use the needle to poke through the bead's hole. (Note that most beading needles are not sharp and are therefore safe for kids to use.) This needle is optional, but it can be helpful.

6. Once you have filled almost the entire stretchy cord with beads and charms, pinch the loose end of the cord and wrap the bracelet around your wrist to check the length. If the bracelet is too small, add a few beads. If it is too large, remove a few beads.

Keep in mind that the bracelet will stretch a little. You just want to make sure it feels comfortable but not so loose that it will fall off.

7. When you're happy with the length, tie the two ends of stretchy cord together to secure.

8. Trim the ends of the cord near the knot.
