Spring Craft: Wild-Hair Egg Planter
Help kids hone their green thumbs with this funny little planter.

Kids will definitely start to giggle when the cress begins to grow out of this funny-face planter. But the creativity and fun doesn't end there. Include kids in meal planning to see how you can incorporate the cress into family dinners and lunches.
What you'll need:
- Egg planters
- Sharpie set
- Googly eyes (optional)
- Low temp glue gun and glue sticks (optional)
- Potting soil
- Cress seeds

1. Decorate the egg planter by using the Sharpies to draw fun faces. You can even add googly eyes using a glue gun, if you'd like.
2. Pour a small amount of potting soil into the planter, leaving about 1/2" of space at the top.

3. Sprinkle a few cress seeds on top of the potting soil, then push the seeds gently into the soil.
4. Add water to the planter, ensuring that the soil is damp. Don't overwater; there shouldn't be any water floating on top of the soil.
5. Place the planter in a sunlit window. Care for the plant by adding water when the soil feels dry.
6. Your plant will begin to sprout its wild hair. If you'd like, you can cut the cress to use in for anything from sandwiches to salads.
