Thanksgiving Crafts For Kids: Fall Mobile Decoration

You may not need to make a trip to the craft store for this DIY, thanks to all the natural supplies it requires.

You can use practically any small items you have to create this hanging mobile. Be sure all the supplies are lightweight, though. The mobile can be displayed indoors or outdoors.

Instructions:

1. Use the craft paint and paintbrush to paint any of the items you'd like. Allow the paint to dry. (This step is optional.)

Twine

2. Cross the two sticks at the center to form a T shape. Cut a 12-inch piece of twine, then wrap the twine around the sticks to secure them. Knot the twine.

3. Tie another knot in the twine at the end opposite the sticks to form a loop for hanging.

4. Cut 4 to 8 strands of twine in varying lengths, depending on how long you'd like your mobile to hang. Add a couple of extra inches to the length to allow for knotting each object. (Each stick can hold 1 to 2 strands of twine, so cut as many as you'd like.)

5. Begin adding natural objects to each strand of twine, knotting the twine securely around each object and securing it with glue.

6. When you're happy with your arrangement, knot each strand of twine around the sticks. Secure with glue.
