Instructions:

1. Fold the paper plate in half and crease it with your fingers. Using your scissors, cut the paper plate down the center crease.

Crayola Washable Tempera

2. Place the plate on a flat surface, with the side where you'd normally place your food facing down. Using the paintbrush, add a coat of brown craft paint. Allow the plate to dry.

Construction Paper

3. Using a pencil, draw a feather template onto a sheet of contruction paper. Cut out the feather.

4. Using the feather as a template, trace the template onto the other colors of construction paper until you have a total of 4 to 5 feathers. Cut out all the feathers.

5. Figure out how you want to arrange the feathers along the curved edge of the paper plate. Feathers can overlap each other, or there can be space between them. There's no wrong way to do this step!

6. Turn the plate so that the white side is facing up. Glue the feathers along the curve of the plate, making sure the bottom part of the feather overlaps with the plate to secure it.

Wiggly Eyes

7. Using the glue, attach the googly eyes to the painted side of the plate.

8. Using the construction paper and scissors, cut a small triangle for the turkey's beak and a long piece for the wattle. Attach to the painted side of the plate. Allow the glue to dry.

9. Using the scissors, cut one tiny notch on each side near the bottom of the plate.

Red Heart Yarn

10. Cut two lengths of yarn or string long enough to tie under your kid's neck or around the back of your kid's head, plus 1 to 2 extra inches.

11. Thread each yarn length through the hole in the side of the plate. Knot to secure.

12. Place the hat on your kid's head, then tie the two pieces of yarn or string together either under your kid's neck or around the back of your kid's head.
