Thanksgiving Crafts For Kids: Pinecone Turkeys

These cute little turkeys are quick and inexpensive to DIY, and they make great decorations for your Thanksgiving table.

Most of the supplies for this fun craft are right in your backyard -- or in your craft stash! Kids will have just as much fun gathering the supplies as they will making the project.

Instructions:

1. Before you use the pinecones, freeze them overnight or bake them in the oven at 200 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes to remove any bugs.

Feathers

2. When the pinecones are ready, glue feathers one at a time to the bottom of the pinecone, inserting them between the layers to secure them. You can add as few or as many feathers as you'd like. If you want lots of color, you can overlap the feathers.

3. Using scissors and orange felt, cut a triangle-shaped beak. Using the hot glue gun, glue the beak to the end of the pinecone opposite the feathers.


Googly eyes

4. Using the hot glue gun, add googly eyes just above the beak.
