LaVerne Emma Chernouski loved to bake, had a great sense of humor and working on jigsaw puzzles.

I believe my role as a journalist is to write stories that are credible, accurate and meaningful. I show up -- for the good stuff, the bad stuff and the uncomfortable stuff. My goal is accuracy and after a tough story, my goal is to be able to look you in the eye and know that even though what was said may have been uncomfortable, it was a fair assessment.
