Elizabeth Rich, Patch Staff
- Upper Saucon, PA
Elizabeth Rich broke into hard journalism at 9 years old. The expose, on firecracker debris in the driveway, was the talk of the dinner table. From there, Elizabeth worked as an associate producer for her hometown Fox affiliate (WDAF Fox4, Kansas City) and a health care journalism fellow at Minnesota 2020, a public policy think tank. Most recently, Elizabeth was the editor-in-chief of the Health Care Ledger, a regional publication for medical professionals and patients in Western Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Elizabeth's Beliefs
At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable.

Politics
How would you describe your political beliefs?
I am a die-hard member of the "What Makes Sense" party, not claiming any affiliation, really listening to people's platforms, and looking at their records. However, I am exceptionally unforgiving for politicians who lie, cheat, and steal. I am a "one strike you're out" kind of person.
Are you registered with a certain party? Nope

Religion
How religious would you consider yourself?
I am Jewish, and am very interested in religion in general. I find that a belief system keeps me grounded.

Local Hot-Button Issues
What do you think are the most important issues facing the community?
There are serious budget discussions in all the municipalities, as well as issues like the Gerryville mining saga.
Where do you stand on each of these issues?
Interested, curious, and ready to hear more.
