I am a Connecticut native with a deep passion and understanding of what makes the Nutmeg State special. After a year of covering communities in the Greater Boston area with Patch, I returned to my home state in 2017 to cover the area which has always held a special place in my heart.
A 2011 graduate and former football player for the Falcons of Joel Barlow High School in Redding, I lived in both Trumbull and Easton for 15 of my first 18 years (with a brief stint in Tokyo, Japan). After high school, I moved on to West Virginia University where I graduated in 2015.
Before joining Patch in December of 2015, I covered a variety of topics ranging from the municipal bond market to mixed martial arts fighting. I aim to use a variety of multimedia tools to capture what makes our part of Fairfield County so special.
Whether you have a story idea, news tip, or just want to say hello, I can be reached at joe.lipovich@patch.com. You can also follow me on twitter @LiPatchovich.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are a Massachusetts resident writing regarding a Massachusetts Patch topic, please feel free to contact me as well.
