After playing college hockey, Melissa Szkola found a second career as a referee, and is making her Olympics debut this week in Pyeongchang.

Rebecca Golden is a longtime writer and editor whose work has appeared in Salon, the Times of London and the Atlantic. Previously editor for Curbed Detroit, she lives in Grosse Pointe Park, where she's completing her second nonfiction book, Welcome to Detroit. Rebecca holds an MFA in nonfiction writing, and undergraduate degrees in journalism and history from Boston University.
