I am excited to be covering local news for Troy Patch and Shelby-Utica Patch.

Most of my experience is in community journalism. Prior to my experience in Troy and Shelby-Utica, I helped launch West Bloomfield Patch and worked as local editor in that township for two years. I have also covered Clawson Patch.

I have a Bachelor's degree in journalism from Oakland University. When I studied there, I also worked as an editor for the independent student newspaper on campus, The Oakland Post.

In my free time, you will most likely find me at a local concert venue, watching hockey, and volunteering. Just not at the same time.

Troy Scores on 2013 Michigan Merit Exam Exceed State Averages

The 2013 scores for the district showed little to no improvement compared to last year's averages. This is the second year using new scoring standards put in place by the Michigan Department of Education in 2011.
