- The 2024 Sundance Film Festival is scheduled has been released and is set to take place from Jan. 18 to 28, 2024. The festival features in-person screenings in nearby Park City, Salt Lake City, and the Sundance Mountain Resort, as well as online availability for a selection of films. Filmmakers can submit their work for consideration starting on the first day of the festival, and the festival's 40th edition will continue the tradition of showcasing innovative and diverse cinema. - The season finale race of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship will take place on May 13 at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. The event marks the culmination of the season and will determine the new Supercross World Champion. Utah, known as "the State of Sport," has become a popular destination for world-class sporting events, and fans can enjoy various off-track activities. Tickets and FanFest Passes are available for purchase online. (Fox 13)
- With the onset of summertime weather in the state, Utah is intensifying its flood prevention measures. The Weber Basin Water Conservancy District is utilizing its water rights to release water from Willard Bay into the Great Salt Lake as a preventive measure against severe flooding. The diversion started on May 11. (KJZZ)
