Here are the top three stories in Salt Lake City today:

  1. Over the past weekend, two men were arrested in a shooting that occurred in a parking lot on Jun. 9 that left a 16-year-old teen injured. The incident occurred before 11:00 p.m. on the night of Jun. 9 when dispatchers received multiple calls of a shooting happening in a parking lot near S. Richmond Street. Authorities stated the incident was gang-related and involved over 10 people, six guns, and over 50 rounds fired. The teen who was injured in the incident was hospitalized with a non-life-threatening ankle gunshot wound; it is believed he was involved as one of the shooters. (KSL.com)
  2. This past Friday, the Tabernacle Choir and The Orchestra announced that they will be performing with Adassa and Alex Melecio in their summer concerts on Jul. 14 and 15. These guest performers are well known for recent roles they have taken on: Melecio was a finalist on a reality show showcasing Latino performers, while Adassa was the voice of Dolores in the Disney movie Encanto. Adassa, Melecio, and the Tabernacle Choir and The Orchestra will be performing at Temple Square next month. (KSL NewsRadio)
  3. This past Thursday, Intermountain Primary Children's Hospital celebrated 10 years of Sophie's Place Music Therapy Room. The therapeutic music room features several different instruments for patients to use, as well as a recording studio to make memories that families and patients can forever cherish. The room was made in honor of Sophie Barton, a former volunteer at the hospital who would share the music she wrote with the hospital's children and parents; Barton passed away unexpectedly in 2010. Sophie's Place has been replicated in 10 other hospitals around the country, with guest performers including Imagine Dragons and Andy Grammar. (ABC4.com)
